Through the leadership of the Salem City Council and the Salem Park and Recreation Advisory Board, Salem, Oregon has what is considered by many to be the "finest Softball Field Complex in the Pacific Northwest." The five softball/two soccer field complex is located in West Salem at Wallace Marine Park, along the Willamette River. These new fields add to the park's existing field space and boating area to make for a very active people place. Development of the Wallace Marine Park Sports Fields helps fulfill the City's desire to increase the development of the waterfront areas for both its community residents and as an attraction to those living outside Salem.
The Sports Fields were designed with quality in mind and amenities to make them attractive to many uses. Softball tournaments are well-suited to locate their event at this fine City-owned facility.
