In the early 1990's, the Oregon State Fair added a chairlift that bisects the fairgrounds north and south. These photos (50K-60K each) were taken Saturday, August 31, 1996...at 12:15 p.m. going north, and 3:30 p.m. heading south.

This is a fun, relaxing way to see the fairground's layout. You can also people-watch, whiff sweet BBQ from the many food booths below, and spot places to visit later. The ten-minute ride travels at an altitude of about 50 feet. Chairs seat two adults (and a young child). Tickets cost $2.50 one-way, or $3.00 for a roundtrip anytime (2000).
