The Oregon Capitol Grounds is an exciting place for photographers. This view is from Willson Park on the west lawn of the Capitol. As spring brings warming, tulip trees, camelias, rhododendrons, flowering cherry trees, and other plantings bloom in an overlapping succession. Of course, the Oregon Capitol is a must-see attraction for visitors to Salem, but be sure to walk the grounds east and west of the Capitol. Guided tours of the interior are available at regular intervals. During the summer months, visitors can climb to the base of the Golden Pioneer on the Capitols Observation Deck.
