 Salem, Oregon - Pretty As A 1920's Postcard
This circa 1920's greeting card depicts the Oregon Capitol from the west before it was destroyed by fire in 1935. Reconstruction was completed in 1937. The rebuilt Oregon Capitol can be viewed from the reflecting pond at Willson Park west of the Capitol. Compare this composite of westerly views from the 1896 Capitol and today's Capitol. Note the size of the reflecting pool.
