Schreiner's Iris Gardens began as a hobby during World War I when Francis Xavier Schreiner started growing Iris in St. Paul, Minnesota; a testament to the fact that bearded Iris will grow in a variety of climates. Upon his death in 1931, Francis' children continued the business and chose to move the gardens to the Keizer area north of Salem, Oregon. | |||||

With over 400 varieties of Iris available in our catalog, Schreiner's trademark is varied colors, plant vigor and excellent bloom stems. Each year the Gardens introduce 15 new Iris hybrids, developed by the Schreiner family. Schreiner's success is benchmarked by ten Dykes Memorial Medals, the highest honor an Iris can receive, the most recent of which was won by Yaquina Blue.
