One of the first things that becomes apparent, is the grand scale of the Capitol and the Golden Pioneer. A 55' free-standing scaffolding was erected for the purpose of inspecting the gilded statue. The stacked platforms are each approximately 8' x 10' in size. An extended 'high lift' used in cleaning the Capitol exterior, offers some perspective of scale.
