
This closer look at the Oregon Pioneer's head after gilding shows the compexity of surfaces. The head and shoulders were double-covered by the gilders. Not a bad idea since those areas are most exposed to the elements. The gilders took care and pride in their workmanship. Project management was on the ball too.
