The North Grand Staircase
and wall sconce lighting frame the 12' x 21' MacBeth witches wall painting created by muralist Nowland Zane.
Zane was a member of interior architect Ellis Lawrence's fine arts faculty at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
It is said to have been 'over-painted' with changes because the scene was originally somewhat controversial. Ask your tour guide to explain.
