  • Deepwood Back Parlor

The back parlor provided informal living space. Alice Brown, Deepwood's third owner, removed the pocket doors between the front parlor and the back parlor. This allowed room for built-in bookcases. The woodwork was matched in style and craftsmanship.

At the same time, Mrs. Brown also replaced the cast iron radiators with a fin style radiator which were enclosed. A vent can be seen below the lower bookshelf. Louvered, moveable double-hung shutters in the downstairs rooms allowed for convenient privacy and a variety of lighting situations.
