    Welcome!

Mission Statement: The Mid-Valley Arts Council's mission is to promote, support, coordinate, and facilitate expression of the arts in all their forms in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties.

We are one of Oregon's ten private, non-profit Regional Arts Councils. We are supported by a mixture of earned income, local and state government grants, and the generosity of many individuals and volunteers. The Mid-Valley Arts Council offers:

  • Artsnews
Published monthly. Submit articles and your calendar of events listing for publication in our Artsnews at no charge to promote your art or cultural activity, or purchase advertising space. Our deadline is the second Wednesday of the month prior to the month of publication.

  • Information Center
Information available for the public, artists and art groups.

  • Arts Directory
This directory lists various people and places that offer a wide range of art and cultural experiences, from public art to studios, museums and galleries within the tri-county area of Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties.

  • Artist of the Month
A monthly visual arts exhibit at the MVAC office to promote local artists.

  • Annual Salem Area Studio Tour
An annual self-guided tour of artist's studios in September. Visit artists in their working studios, learn about their materials, techniques and process.

  • Paint the Town
A week-long event, June 5 through 11, where you can watch artists painting the parks, historic architecture, street scenes and people of the city of Salem.

  • First Night
A New Year's Eve celebration whose purpose is to foster the public's appreciation of visual and performing arts through a public, community-oriented, diverse and non-alcoholic celebration.
