Mission Statement: The Mid-Valley Arts Council's mission is to promote, support, coordinate, and facilitate
expression of the arts in all their forms in Marion, Polk and Yamhill
counties.
We are one of Oregon's ten private, non-profit Regional Arts
Councils. We are supported by a mixture of earned income, local and state
government grants, and the generosity of many individuals and volunteers. The Mid-Valley Arts Council offers:
Artsnews Published monthly. Submit articles and your calendar of
events listing for publication in our Artsnews at no charge to promote
your art or cultural activity, or purchase advertising space. Our
deadline is the second Wednesday of the month prior to the month of
publication.
Information Center Information available for the public, artists and art groups.
Arts Directory This directory lists various people and places that
offer a wide range of art and cultural experiences, from public art to
studios, museums and galleries within the tri-county area of Marion,
Polk and Yamhill counties.
Artist of the Month A monthly visual arts exhibit at the MVAC
office to promote local artists.
Annual Salem Area Studio Tour An annual self-guided tour of artist's studios
in September. Visit artists in their working studios, learn
about their materials, techniques and process.
Paint the Town A week-long event, June 5 through 11, where you can
watch artists painting the parks, historic architecture, street scenes
and people of the city of Salem.
First Night A New Year's Eve celebration whose purpose is to foster the public's appreciation of visual and performing arts through a public,
community-oriented, diverse and non-alcoholic celebration.
