Artist applications for the Artist Marketplace of the Salem Art Fair & Festival are available in January. Approximately 200 fine artists and craftspersons will be selected by jury for Oregon's premier arts celebration. With annual attendance of over 100,000, the fair is held in Salem's picturesque 90-acre Bush's Pasture Park.
The Salem Art Association, which produces the event, honors the tradition with additional programming as part of the summer-long arts celebration. The fair is a major fund-raiser for the many community art programs of Salem Art Association.
Participants in the Artist Marketplace present a wide range of art and art forms including ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, glass, woodworking, fibers and jewelry. Cash awards are given for best of show and certain media categories. The Artist Marketplace is situated among a grove of historic oak and fir trees.
