Capitol Rotunda Holiday Music Every year the Oregon Capitol Rotunda hosts a Holiday Celebration with song & instrumental music. The lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree occurs during the first week of December. In this photo, a vocal soloist from North Salem High School performs for an appreciative public audience.
Murals depicting icons of Oregon history grace the walls of grand marble staircases and the Rotunda. The bas relief State Seal in the center of the great hall is ringed with garlands. Surrounding the base of the lighted tree is a model railroad layout that runs for children & enthusiasts. -- 12/17/2007 |
